Annual Christmas card competition

The College held their Annual Christmas Card Competition this year. After much deliberation and hours of independent judging, local artist Louise Pasquill chose the winners.

First place went to Dominic from Southwark. Louise commented on Dominic’s entry: “Dominic has thought carefully about his colour scheme, his technical colouring is beautiful. His incredible attention to detail adding sprinkles took his design to a different level. I think we would all enjoy Dominic’s Christmas Hot Choc and Christmas cookies for breakfast on Christmas morning. Well done, Dominic, your original and seasonal design certainly got my tummy rumbling”.

Joint second place went to Niamh in Sutton and Kadiatu in Southwark. Louise commented: “Niamh has brought a sense of humour to the design, with a cheeky Rudolph lighting up his Merry Christmas message. Niamh has composed this design with a lot of care and has completed it to an incredibly high standard, the cropped composition is very striking.

Kadiatu, created a beautiful floral framed “Merry Christmas”. This design brings a peaceful message of light and life through a candle and floral frame with bells and detailed lettering. This design is technically accomplished, and the composition is very well balanced. Well done both”.

And third place went to Moses from Sutton. Louise’s appraisal of Moses’ work was as follows: “Moses has incorporated so many Christmas messages into his fun and energetic drawing. The snowman, the church, the birdhouse, the hats and all the snowflakes and stars to name a few. The Christmas characters playing in the snow bring a warm message of friendship and fun. He has also constructed the foreground, middle ground and background layering very well. Congratulations on your lovely drawing Moses”.
