We will prepare an individual training programme to suit you and your employer and provide study support, as well as provide information, advice, and guidance on any educational, career or personal matters.

Do I need to be working?

An apprenticeship requires you to be employed  (30 hours plus a week) in the relevant setting . You can be employed part time for a minimum of 16 hours per week and/or work term time only.   However, this will extend the duration you have on the programme.

Your employer will  support your 20% off the job training requirement and help you track achievement of this using a college software programme called One file once you are enrolled. The 20% off the job training may include college attendance which may be virtual, evidencing workplace activity, attending external events and general tasks which are substantive new skills. Guidance on what does and doesn’t constitute towards off the job training will be given to you and your employer at the start of the programme.

If you do not have an employer in place, then the apprenticeships team at Orchard Hill College can provide Information, Advice and Guidance. You can contact us at enquiries@orchardhill.ac.uk or call 0345 402 0453 and select the Assessments & Placements Team.
