Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expedition
Our students were delighted to have completed their one and two night expeditions for their Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The students visited Gallipot and Five Hundred Acre Wood Circular in Hartfield and completed two long hikes over the two days, while spotting herds of deer on route! The Five Hundred Acre Wood is the setting for A.A Milne’s Winnie the Pooh book and the students were lucky enough to explore the area and visit Pooh Sticks Bridge.
The students developed a range of new skills and took part in new activities including circus skills, fire building, putting up tents, food preparation, cooking, archery and football. One member of staff even wowed the students with a fire juggling show!
Everyone had a great time and worked really hard to meet all the criteria needed for their awards.
