Orchard Hill College Executive Principal champions Specialist FE at Natspec Conference 2026

Kelly Phillips, Executive Principal at Orchard Hill College, took to the stage at the Natspec National Conference 2026 to highlight the importance of specialist further education (FE).

Speaking to sector leaders, Kelly emphasised the transformative impact specialist FE has on young people with additional needs, underlining the importance of high expectations, personalised learning and clear pathways into adulthood. She also highlighted the need for continued collaboration and innovation to maintain excellence across the sector.

Kelly said: “Specialist FE has a vital role in empowering young people with additional needs to achieve meaningful, aspirational outcomes. By keeping expectations high and focusing on individual strengths, we can create real pathways into independent and fulfilling adult lives. Events like the Natspec Conference are incredibly valuable in bringing the sector together to share best practice, collaborate and continue driving improvement.”

Her contribution formed part of a wider national conversation about the future of specialist education and showcased Orchard Hill College’s ongoing commitment to delivering outstanding provision.
