Orchard Hill College learners celebrate success at Jack Petchey Achievement Awards
Learners from Orchard Hill College enjoyed a memorable evening of celebration at the Jack Petchey Achievement Awards evening for Sutton schools and clubs, held at the Epsom Playhouse. The event brought together young people, staff, families and supporters to recognise outstanding achievements, resilience and positive contributions made by learners over the past year.
The evening was a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on the hard work and determination shown by our learners, with five Orchard Hill College learners proudly receiving a Jack Petchey Achievement Award medallion.
The learners recognised were:
- Chyna-Mai (Southwark region)
- Daniel (Hillingdon region)
- Bradley (Sutton region)
- Marcus (Kingston region)
- Alexander (Hillingdon region)
Each learner was celebrated for their individual journey, commitment and the positive impact they have made within their college community.
In addition to receiving a medallion, the learners received a £300 grant towards an initiative of their choice. These grants are designed to further inspire young people by supporting activities that enrich learning and well-being.
Kirsty Cottrell, Principal at Orchard Hill College said; “It was an incredibly proud moment to see our learners recognised on such a prestigious stage. Each of them has shown remarkable resilience and growth and this award truly reflects the effort they put into their learning and their community every day.”
Orchard Hill College learner Alexander said: “I felt really proud of myself when I won the award and I made my parents proud too. At first I was very nervous because there were a lot of people but once I saw everyone, I started to feel excited and confident. It was a new experience for me because I’ve never won anything like this before and I will always remember. I was really happy to share my prize with my friends.”
The Jack Petchey Achievement Awards continue to play a vital role in celebrating young people and Orchard Hill College is delighted to see our learners achievements recognised in this way.
