Park View Centre, Uxbridge
It has been a busy first few weeks at Park View Centre, our new centre in Hillingdon. Students have been working hard building links and making themselves at home in their new surroundings. They have have been shopping, swimming, to the gym, walking on the local common and playing football.
Students have been planning how the centre can be better at recycling and reducing their carbon footprint. The first step was to look at classroom priorities, these included; student jobs to recycle classroom products, switch off unused plugs and lights and to recycle paper to make homemade paper.
Hillingdon Food Bank donated surplus food to the College and students used this to make a start with their enterprise to start fundraising for the charity. Students made their first batch of hot food and sold this to staff around the centre.
Nita, Centre Coordinator at Park View said “It was so lovely to have a nice hot jacket potato, I can’t wait to see what is on the menu next week!”
