Podcast Series ‘Westminster Unfiltered’
What happens when two students with big opinions, sharp minds and zero fear of asking tough questions get behind a microphone?
You get Westminster Unfiltered, our student-led podcast diving into the stories, people and political issues shaping the world around us.
The idea came about earlier this year after our very first interview with Bobby Dean, MP for Carshalton and Wallington, back in March. Joseph’s in-depth political knowledge caught everyone by surprise, so much so that we immediately asked him if he wanted to create his own spin-off show. Thankfully, he said yes.
Since then, the podcast has taken off:
- We’ve interviewed Bobby Dean twice (and even made a trip to Parliament).
- We sat down with a representative from the Ben Kinsella Trust, following Joseph’s powerful conversation about knife crime during that first episode.
- Laurie Cornwell, Deputy CEO of Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust was in the hotseat for questions about how the Colleges are run and how student voices are heard.
And this year, Morgan joined the team, bringing fresh energy, strong opinions and a long-term ambition of becoming Prime Minister. No pressure, then..
And we’re not stopping there. Next on the wish list? A visit to the Department for Education so watch this space!
