The achievements of our Kingston learners were celebrated at a special regional awards presentation event in front of friends and family.

Kirsty Cottrell, Principal of Orchard Hill College, said: “You have had an amazing year, making progress at College, enjoying a full range of activities and getting involved in the local community.”

Laura Muir, Deputy Head of College for Kingston, recognised their individual achievements and the milestones achieved over the year as she presented every learner with a personalised certificate.

The certificates represented the wide range of interests and the highly individualised programme followed by learners at the college and examples included:

  • For outstanding participation and self‑expression in dance and music sessions at Christ Church St John’s
  • For gaining an award in growing vegetables and preparing an allotment
  • For developing customer service skills whilst working at Waitrose and achieving a Level 1 Ascentis Personal Development Award
  • For developing organisational and leadership skills whilst supporting other volunteers at Kingston Voluntary Action.
  • For successfully gaining a place on a cycling, horticulture and creative arts enterprise programme
  • For securing employment as a café assistant at the Kingsmeadow Café in New Malden.

Well done to all the Kingston Learners on their achievements this year. We are looking forward to working with many of you next year, and wish those moving on, all the very best.

Thank you for being such wonderful, inspiring young people from the whole Orchard Hill College Kingston team.
