Nursing

At Orchard Hill College our Nurses and Health Assistants work in partnership with students and their support networks to provide holistic medical support. Every student’s health and well- being is assessed and promoted, enhancing their quality of life and enabling them to achieve their full  potential. The students are empowered to partake fully in their educational programmes  and activities while at college and are supported in their transition into the community upon leaving.

The Nurses provide training for curriculum staff according to individual need, enabling all our students  access to the community. They also offer first aid training and emergency care training to all staff  as well as training for Apprentice staff and Student nurses. Some external training is also offered and the Nurses have formed links with our Academy schools offering support and advice as required.

The Nurse team works closely with the Safeguarding team to ensure the safety of our students at all times.

Outcomes for learners are outstanding, teaching, learning and assessment are excellent and the extremely diverse programmes that meet learners’ individual needs, interests and aspirations, prepare them very well for life after College.
