Student Voice Conference

At our college, we believe that every student’s voice is powerful, and this week, that belief was brought to life at our Student Voice Conference. With over 35 student representatives from all four of our regions coming together, the event was a celebration of shared ideas, creativity, and the collective strength of our student body.

The day was filled with inspiration and collaboration, starting with engaging sessions on Empowering Student Voice in the Classroom and Workplace. These discussions were designed to equip students with the tools they need to advocate for themselves and others, ensuring that their voices are not just heard but valued.

In the afternoon, students took the lead with a Student-Led Project where they chose specific initiatives to focus on and shared ideas for implementation. It was amazing to see students thinking creatively about how we can continue to improve the experience for everyone at our college.

Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to express themselves in different ways—whether through arts and crafts, relaxing in the sensory room, or even recording a live podcast with our Digital Team. These activities created a space for creativity and reflection, further emphasising the importance of diverse modes of expression.

Xander, a student representative from the Hillingdon region, shared his thoughts on the event: “Student voice is so important, and this is a great way to keep discussions going and get our voices heard!”

Darrell, our Student Enrichment and Engagement Manager, added, “The Student Voice Conference was a fantastic opportunity to see our students come together, share their perspectives, and work collaboratively. It’s events like this that remind us why student engagement is at the heart of everything we do. We’re already looking forward to the next one!”
