Students at Parkview showcase creative talent through Art Project

Students at Orchard Hill College’s Park View Centre have been exploring their creativity this academic year through an inspiring art project centred around one simple theme – faces.

Working alongside volunteer art teacher Gwyneth, who has generously dedicated her time by leading sessions twice a week, students from the PMLD and WorkStart classes have developed a collection of vibrant and imaginative artwork using a wide range of artistic techniques.

From bold superhero portraits and expressive character illustrations to colourful abstract faces inspired by artists such as Picasso, each piece reflects the individuality, creativity and growing confidence of the students who created them.

Throughout the project, students experimented with painting, collage, pen work, crayons and pencil, developing new artistic skills while exploring colour, shape, texture and expression. The variety of techniques allowed every learner to express themselves in their own unique way, resulting in a collection that celebrates creativity as much as the finished artwork itself.

As well as producing eye-catching pieces, the sessions provided valuable opportunities to develop fine motor skills, concentration, communication and self-expression in a relaxed and supportive environment.

The college extends its sincere thanks to Gwyneth for her continued dedication, enthusiasm and encouragement, helping students discover new talents and take pride in their artistic achievements.

The completed artwork is a wonderful celebration of imagination, individuality and the power of creativity, showcasing what students can achieve when given the opportunity to explore and express themselves through art.
