Supported Interns take the next step towards NHS Careers

Congratulations to Supported Interns Alice and Macey, who have successfully completed their Care Certificate and are now qualified Healthcare Assistants.

This is a significant achievement and marks an important milestone in their journey towards employment within the healthcare sector.

The Care Certificate is a nationally recognised qualification designed to ensure healthcare support workers have the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to provide safe, compassionate and high-quality care. Completing the programme requires learners to demonstrate competence across a range of areas, including communication, safeguarding, infection prevention, person-centred care and professional practice.

Throughout their Supported Internship at The Hillingdon Hospital, both Alice and Macey have shown outstanding commitment, professionalism and determination. They have worked hard to develop their skills in real healthcare settings, gaining valuable hands-on experience while making a meaningful contribution to their placement departments.

Their success reflects not only the progress they have made as individuals, but also the power of Supported Internships in helping young people with additional needs develop the confidence, independence and workplace skills needed to achieve their career goals.

Having successfully completed their Care Certificate, Alice and Macey are now progressing towards securing Bank Healthcare Assistant opportunities within the NHS, bringing them one step closer to long-term employment in a sector where they have already demonstrated they can make a real difference.
