Transition Events
We have had a busy week of Transition Events across College. The aim of these events is to provide information and advice on what provisions students can access in the local area and information on next steps after College. They are attended by our students and their parents and carers, we also invite other schools from the local area and Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust to attend.
The week kicked off in Kingston, where we were pleased to welcome a number of stall holders from the local area, along with representatives from Bedelsford, Dysart and St Philip’s Schools. Our next event took place in Southwark, where we had a brilliant turnout at The Salvation Army hall opposite Lomond House and we were pleased to be joined by Michael Tippet, Drumbeat and Tuke Schools, along with Lambeth College and Park Kennington College. Following this we held our first Transition event at our new centre in Hillingdon, where students were pleased to welcome providers to see the new facilities. Students were on hand with refreshments in the new vocational kitchen too.
Lastly, our students and staff attended the Preparing for Adulthood event hosted by the London Borough of Sutton at Sutton Life Centre, along with a number of other OHC&AT schools including Carew Academy, St Philip’s School and The Link School.
The events all went really well and were key in building partnerships and networking. In Kingston, Southwark and Hillingdon we welcomed a total of 28 external stall holders and saw over 200 students, parents/carers and staff members visit the events. Thank you to all those who made the week such a success.
