College support funds are available to provide financial support to eligible students. Please read the Guidance for Applicants before you complete this form. This money is intended to help students participate in education where there is a financial barrier.

SECTION 2: WHAT SUPPORT ARE YOU APPLYING FOR?

Before completing your application, you will need to check your benefit/income eligibility against the criteria below.
We need to know about the level of income in your household and details of current occupants.
Please tick any criteria which applies to you and supply the appropriate evidence. All evidence needs to be dated within the 12 months, except for wage slips which need to be within the last 3 months.
The following can be in student or parent/carer’s name
Applications can only be considered upon receipt of the relevant evidence required.
Income Support
Income based Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance
The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
Universal Credit
Household income (Under £40,000)
Exceptional circumstances, Extreme financial hardship or emergency
Vulnerable Bursary (Aged 16 to 19 only)
In local authority care
Recently left local authority care
Income Support or Universal Credit because you’re financially supporting yourself
Personal Independence Payments (or Disability Living Allowance) and Employment and Support Allowance (or Universal Credit) in your own name

  • I understand that the information given on this form may be shared with other departments within the College.
  • I agree to inform the College immediately if I withdraw from my course. I understand that if I do withdraw that I may be liable to pay back all or some of the monies and/or equipment awarded to me or the College on my behalf.
  • I can confirm that the evidence I have provided is correct and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief.
  • I understand that the college will be unable to process my application if my application is incomplete.
  • Please be aware that giving false or incomplete information that leads to incorrect overpayment may result in future payments being stopped and any incorrectly paid funds being recovered. This could potentially lead to the student and/or family facing prosecution.
  • I understand that if I am in receipt of benefits and am successful in my application for the Discretionary Bursary, I must inform the Department for Work and Pensions.
